Table for Two
Brick walls, low amber light, one martini between them. Larry pitches his sausage and peppers philosophy across a candlelit trattoria table while his date decides whether dinner is a date or a cooking lesson — a one-minute short about ordering well in an Italian restaurant.
Quick answer
Is it cheaper to make your own Italian sausage?
Yes, usually. Pork shoulder runs $2.50 to $4 per pound versus $5 to $8 for store links, so homemade costs roughly half — about $3 per pound all in with spices and casings. A grinder attachment pays for itself after about 25 pounds.
