A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, the universe was running dangerously low on sausage. Woo! Not on my watch. Sweet sausage of destiny. Eat vegetables. Feast of all. Larry, a little help. Hold on, hold on. I meant to do that. May the sausage be with you. Larry, you almost hit me. I'm still learning. Larry, I have been waiting for you. You picked the wrong Italian Irish guy. Sally, any ideas? Duck! Larry, why are you stopping? I can't leave him. It's a sausage. He has a name. What's his name? Tony. You actually saved the galaxy. Kid, I've been saving dinner my whole life. So, princess, you doing anything after we save the universe? Don't push it. Worth a shot. Coming soon, The Empire Strikes Brisket.

Quick answer
Is it cheaper to make your own Italian sausage?
Yes, usually. Pork shoulder runs $2.50 to $4 per pound versus $5 to $8 for store links, so homemade costs roughly half — about $3 per pound all in with spices and casings. A grinder attachment pays for itself after about 25 pounds.
