Quick answer
Is it cheaper to make your own Italian sausage?
Yes, usually. Pork shoulder runs $2.50 to $4 per pound versus $5 to $8 for store links, so homemade costs roughly half — about $3 per pound all in with spices and casings. A grinder attachment pays for itself after about 25 pounds.
