Big Night Timpano — The Movie That Made a Pasta Drum Famous

Big Night, co-directed by and starring Stanley Tucci, centers on two Italian immigrant brothers running a restaurant, and its showpiece dish is the timpano.

The timpano is a dome of pasta dough filled with layers of pasta, sauce, meats, eggs and cheese, then baked and unmolded. The film made the dish famous with American audiences.
