How to play Pepper Invaders
Pepper Invaders is a free browser arcade shooter where you steer a green bell pepper along the bottom of the screen and shoot descending rows of Italian sausage links before they land.
Pepper Invaders is Uncle Larry's take on the classic fixed shooter. Thirty-two grilled sausage links advance in formation, sliding sideways and dropping a row each time they touch the wall, while your pepper holds the last line in front of Larry's kitchen.
It runs entirely in the browser with no download, no account and no cost. Progress is local: your best score is saved in your own browser, so you can close the tab and pick the run back up later.
- 1Start a run. Press Start game, or tap the space bar, to launch the first wave.
- 2Move and fire. Slide left and right along the bottom and fire upward into the formation. Up to four of your shots can be in the air at once.
- 3Dodge return fire. The lowest sausage in a column fires back. Keep moving; a hit costs one of your three lives and gives you a short flashing grace period.
- 4Clear the wave. Destroy every sausage to bank a wave bonus. The next formation arrives faster and fires more often.
- 5Survive. The run ends when you lose all three lives or the formation reaches your row.

Scoring
- Back rows are worth more: a sausage in the top row scores 100 points, the next rows 75, 50 and 25.
- Clearing an entire wave adds a 500-point bonus multiplied by the wave number.
- Your highest score is stored in your browser and shown as Best in the scoreboard.
Tips for a higher score
- Thin out the outside columns first — a narrower formation takes longer to reach the wall and drop a row.
- Fewer sausages means faster sausages, so save easy shots for when the wave speeds up.
- Stay under the column you are shooting and step aside immediately; return fire follows the column, not you.
